Muhammad Anwar

Chief Executive Officer

Muhammad Anwar brings over three decades of experience in civic leadership, development management, and liberal advocacy to his role as CEO of Freedom Gate Prosperity (FG). A Political Science graduate from the University of the Punjab, he served 33 years at the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom, where he led programs focused on democracy, human rights, and socio-economic development across Pakistan.
Muhammad Anwar co-founded The Learning School in Kot Radha Kishan, which has provided quality education to over 1,200 underprivileged students since 2002. He regularly appears in the media to promote tolerance, civic responsibility, and Jinnah’s vision of a progressive Pakistan. With FGP, Anwar envisions a platform that empowers marginalised communities, promotes environmental stewardship, and advances inclusive development.

Farhan Jawaid

Head of Programs

Farhan Jawaid is an accomplished development sector professional with over two decades of experience in program management, capacity building, rights-based advocacy, and civil society networking. Holding a Master’s in Economics and a management certification from LUMS and McGill University, he has successfully led large-scale, multi-sectoral initiatives on child protection, education, health, and livelihoods. Farhan has collaborated with major international organizations, including USAID, EU, Save the Children, UNDP, and IKEA Foundation, managing teams at national and regional levels. His expertise spans strategic planning, donor coordination, program implementation, and media and government liaison, making him a key contributor to social impact and policy transformation.

Shafqat Aziz

Head of Climate Change

Shafqat Aziz is a seasoned Development Communications Specialist, Policy Advocate, and Master Trainer with over 20 years of experience in policy advocacy, media engagement, and stakeholder collaboration. He has led high-impact communication campaigns, policy reforms, and capacity-building initiatives across climate change, DRR, gender equality, food security, and WASH. Having worked with Oxfam, SDPI, PPAF, and major media outlets, he excels in multi-stakeholder dialogues, media strategies, and policy lobbying. As an Independent Consultant, he has collaborated with UNICEF, GIZ, and corporate leaders on advocacy campaigns in MHH, financial inclusion, and sustainable development. He seeks consultancy opportunities to support UN agencies and development partners in strategic communication, policy advocacy, and stakeholder engagement.

Atif Saeed

Head of Finance & Administration

Atif Saeed is a finance and administration professional with 14+ years of experience in financial management, donor compliance, governance, and operational systems for non-profits. Before joining Freedom Gate Prosperity, he served as Senior Finance Manager at Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom (FNF) Pakistan, overseeing financial planning, budgeting, audits, payroll, procurement controls, and statutory tax compliance under INGO standards. He holds an MBA in Finance and has strong experience coordinating with auditors, regulators, banks, and development partners. At FGP, he leads Finance and Administration, managing budgeting, reporting, HR processes, risk controls, and compliance with SECP and donor requirements to support sustainability and growth.

Sabrina Shahzad

Head of Communication & Strategic Partnerships

Sabrina Shahzad is a communications and reporting professional with over 15 years of experience in Pakistan’s development and humanitarian sector, including nearly three years with United Nations agencies. She specializes in high-quality donor reporting, visibility content, success stories, and knowledge products that strengthen programme accountability and impact. Her work spans agriculture, livelihoods, food security, disaster response, rule of law, and women’s rights and empowerment. Sabrina brings strong coordination skills, ensures compliance with institutional guidelines, and turns complex field information into clear, engaging narratives. She holds an MA in Mass Communication from the University of the Punjab, Lahore.

Dr Shahbaz Tariq

Head of Research (Economics & Governance)

Dr Shahbaz Tariq is a finance and economics professional with 14+ years of experience across international NGOs, diplomatic missions, and academia. He has held roles with the Australian High Commission, Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom, Centre for Peace & Development Initiatives, and Helping Hand for Relief & Development, strengthening donor compliance, budgeting, audits, and institutional governance. Holding a PhD in Finance and Economics, he blends financial systems expertise with research on fintech adoption, corporate governance, and economic reform. At Freedom Gate Prosperity, he leads economics and governance research, providing evidence that supports policy advocacy, program design, and inclusive development strategies.

Dr. Kauser Iqbal Khan

Senior Agriculture & Climate Resilience Advisor

Dr. Kauser Iqbal Khan is an agricultural economist with 30+ years of experience in value chain development, climate-resilient agriculture, biosafety, and rural livelihoods. He holds a PhD in World Economy and International Economic Relations from the Russian State Agrarian University, Moscow, and has led major programmes in Pakistan, Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Central Asia. He has worked with CABI, UNEP, DFID, the World Bank, GIZ, and government partners on sustainable farming systems, integrated pest management, farmer capacity building, and implementation of the Cartagena and Nagoya Protocols. He has authored technical publications and is a PRINCE2 Practitioner. At FGP, he advises on climate-smart agriculture and livelihoods.

Saaremeen Fatima

Program Manager (Youth Development

Saaremeen Fatima is a youth development and mental health professional with strong experience in programme planning, monitoring and evaluation, research, and results-based reporting. Trained as a Clinical Psychologist, she brings a people-centered approach to youth engagement, safeguarding, and community resilience, with expertise in gender-based violence (GBV), capacity building, and knowledge management. She has supported national and international initiatives, including work with Accountability Lab Pakistan, and contributes as a gender expert and trainer through ongoing freelance roles. Saaremeen holds an MS in Clinical Psychology from SZABIST and an MSc in Applied Psychology from NUML, Islamabad.
